Bulldog girls sweep swim dual; host Post Falls today

COEUR d’ALENE — The Sandpoint girls beat Post Falls 82-67, Lewiston 77-68 and Lakeland 92-30 to earn the duals sweep recently at a four-team meet at the Kroc Center in Coeur d’Alene. The Bulldog boys lost 49-47 to Lakeland, 79-41 to Lewiston and 80-29 to Post Falls in the team scoring.

Kate Matlosz led the girls with a first place in the 200 individual medley and a second place in the 100 free, while Madi Contor won the 100  butterfly and finished second in the 200 free. The two teamed with Emily Hieronymus and Shanna Crayne to win the 400 free relay and finish second in the 200 free relay.

Nikole Alamillo, Monica Olaso, Emily Navarra and Madi Ogle teamed up to finish four in the 200 medley relay. Other top five finishers for the Bulldog girls were Crayne (2nd 100 back, 3rd 100 free), Olaso (4th 100 breast), Galen May (4th 50 free, 4th 100 breast), Hieronymus (5th 500 free), Gabriel Burns (5th 100 breast) and Ogle (5th 50 free, 5th 100 free).

Clayton York, Ben Reich, Jacob Sweezy and Kai Whitley teamed up to finish 2nd in t he 400 free and 3rd in the 200 medley relays to lead the Bulldog boys. Other top five finishers were York (3rd 200 free), Whitley (3rd 100 free) and Sweezy (4th 50 free and 4th 100 breast).

Sandpoint hosts Post Falls today in the final home swim meet of the season, starting at 4 p.m. at the SWAC.
