Chamber honors Chris Bessler as top volunteer
SANDPOINT — Chris Bessler’s volunteering efforts in the community are vast and his impact tremendous.
Bessler was honored recently by the Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce as September’s Volunteer of the Month.
From 2008-2012, Bessler served on the Downtown Sandpoint Business Association board of directors from 2008 to 2012. During his time on the board, he served as president and vice president. In addition, Bessler is a longtime member of the Tourism Sandpoint Council, formerly known Visit Sandpoint. Other boards that are happy to have him include the Panhandle Alliance for Education and the Advisory Council for Friends of Ponderay Bay Trail.
In his past, he has served on the Panida Theater Board of Directors, Sandpoint Planning Commission, Selkirk-Priest Basin Association and Chaired Sandpoint Forward committee.
“I’ve known Chris for a while, the big thing about volunteers is making a difference in the community, this young man (Chris) makes a difference,” said Jim Lovell.
