Contor, Crayne lead Bulldog swimmers at districts
MOSCOW — Junior Madi Contor finished third in the 50 free and 100 fly to lead the Bulldog swim team at the North Idaho district swim meet Saturday at the University of Idaho pool.
Shanna Crayne also notched a third place finish in the 100 free, no easy task in the eight team meet featuring some of the fastest swimmers in the state, leading the Bulldog girls to a fifth place team finish.
Senior Jacob Sweezy was ninth in the 100 breast and 10th in the 100 free to lead the Bulldog boys, making state cuts in the 50 and 100 free in the process.
Cassidy Story (8th in 100 breast, 9th in 100 free), Galen May (9th in 500 free, 10th in 200 free), Monica Olaso (11th in 100 breast)Nikole Alamillo (14th in 50 free, 15th in 100 back), Madi Ogle (16th in 50 free, 16th in 100 free), Emily Navarra (17th in 100 back), Jessica Bomar (18th in 100 back), Gabriel Burns (18th in 100 breast) also competed for the Bulldog girls.
Also competing for the Bulldog boys was Ben Reich (10th in 100 breast, 15th in 100 free), Clayton York (11th in 200 free), Kai Whitley (21st in 50 free) and Jonah Horton (22nd in 100 free).
The Bulldogs will take eight swimmers to the two-day state meet, which is Nov. 1-2 at the Boise West YMCA.
