Magro runs wild as Bulldog JV routs Bears
SANDPOINT — Sandpoint running back Logan Magro ran wild for the Bulldog JV football team in a recent 47-0 pasting of Moscow, picking up 212 yards and four touchdowns on just 14 carries.
Magro now has 346 yards and six touchdowns in the past two wins over the Bears and Lake City.
Quarterback Bear Youngdahl finished 7-13 passing for 98 yards and two touchdowns, both to receiver Jake Timothy. The Bulldogs built a 28-0 lead in the first half, sealed by a Colton Engel interception to end the half.
“Our defense played amazing, allowing only one first down in the first half,” said head coach Jacob Peterson.
After Colton Muldoon forced a fumble, Magro raced 81 yards for a score, followed by a 35 yard scoring run to build the lead to 34-0. Jackson Diercks took over at running back and scored on an 18 yard touchdown run.
The defense allowed only 78 yards of offense in a strong showing.
“Our D-line dominated this game,” said Peterson.
Ends Troy Nutt and Brett Hutchens each and two tackles for loss, and Nutt also had a forced fumble. Devin LaCroix was very destructive at tackle. Linebacker Jake Timothy had a tackle for a loss and defensive back Ravyn Smith had two pass deflections, while Caiden Oliver had one pass deflection by delivering a big blow to a Moscow receiver.
Tyler Presser added 45 yards on nine carries, Sam Johnson caught two passes for 11 yards, and Timothy finished with 59 yards receiving. Hutchens was 5-7 on PAT attempts.
