| October 26, 2013 7:00 AM

CLARKSTON — Chase Rodriguez hauled in touchdown catches of 30, 39 and 55  yards from quarterback Nate Loutzenhiser, leading the Bulldogs to a 47-29 road win over Clarkston in nonleague football action on Friday night.

After a scoreless first quarter, Curtis Roop scored the first of his two touchdowns as the Bulldogs (4-4) put up 28 points in the second quarter, capitalizing on excellent field position. Ravyn Smith had an interception and nice return to set up Tyler Harris’s 19 yard scoring run, giving the Bulldogs a comfortable 28-3 lead at the half.

Clarkston (1-7) rallied to score 26 second half points, many coming when Sandpoint pulled its starters to rest up for next week’s big game. Isaac Johnson continues to make plays at linebacker, picking off a pass and nearly returning it for a score in the fourth quarter. Kyle Perry returned from injury to score the Bulldogs’ final touchdown.

Sandpoint finished with 434 yards of total offense, while Clarkston racked up 418, most of it in the second half, as the two teams combined for 39 fourth quarter points.

Lakeland beat Moscow 42-14, setting up a huge 4A Inland Empire League game next Friday at Barlow Stadium, with the winner earning the right to host a first round playoff game.

n Wampus Cats win in blowout

PLUMMER — Clark Fork scored early and often, blowing out Timberline 79-30 in a nonleague football game on Friday at Lakeside High School in Plummer.

Brandan Bowen scored on a 70 yard run to get things going, and a host of other Wampus Cats (3-4) scored touchdowns in a blowout that was stopped due to the mercy rule in the fourth quarter.

Wyatt Stevens scored two touchdowns, Ben Bahr and Drew Menges each scored, and even linemen John Regalia and Dan Rotermund notched touchdowns for the Cats. Tyler Hammack had eight tackles on defense.

Foreign exchange student Javier Rebollo, from Spain, made 5/6 extra points, something you rarely see in eight man football.

“It was pretty funny, the kids started chanting ‘Spain, Spain, Spain,’” said Cats head coach Brian Arthun. “We came out and got on them right away.”

The Wampus Cats end the regular season next Friday at Kootenai.
