Rognstad is the right person for the job

I urge you to vote for Shelby Rognstad for Sandpoint City Council on Nov. 5. I have been fortunate enough to work with him on council for the last two years. I have witnessed first-hand his dedication to Sandpoint’s future.

Councilman Rognstad brings good perspective to the group as a business owner, and has shown he listens to his constituents. He believes strongly in working to improve the local economy and demonstrates that in his actions and decision-making. He also recognizes the importance of our natural resources and their impact on the local economy.

He has demonstrated his commitment to the city of Sandpoint specifically throughout the last seven years by participating in the shaping of the city’s future. He was active in the comprehensive planning process. Then, he followed that up by serving on the Planning and Zoning Commission for four years to help implement portions of the plan. He has served for the last two years on council, making positive changes pursuant to the goals of the comprehensive plan. Sandpoint would be fortunate to have his representation for the next four years.

Many decisions city council has made have been difficult. It’s easy to watch from the outside and criticize what elected officials do. It is not so easy to vote on decisions in ways that are unpopular but in the best interest of the city. Councilman Rognstad has consistently voted in ways that carry Sandpoint in the right direction. He is the right choice for Sandpoint City Council.
