Badgers sweep Wampus Cats
CLARK FORK — Annie Wurm led Clark Fork with 15 set assists, but it wasn’t enough, as the 1A Wampus Cats lost to 3A Bonners Ferry 25-16, 25-19 and 25-8 in straight sets Thursday night in season opening volleyball action at Clark Fork High School.
Lyndsie Kiebert, Alicia Heigis and Autumn Wagoner each had three kills, and head coach Cindy Derr praised the strong serving of freshman Hope Kinney, who led several scoring runs.
“Bonners Ferry served us off the court. We were so nervous, but there is so much potential,” said Derr of her team. “We learned we need to talk and have a positive attitude.”
Desiral Minor registered six kills and nine digs, and Emma Kelley 18 assists for the Badgers.
Clark Fork (0-1) is at Mullan on Tuesday in a North Star League opener.
