Swanson's job was incorrectly stated

| September 17, 2013 7:00 AM

Thorne Research and its employees remain deeply saddened by the loss of life occasioned by the inexplicable and horrendous action of our former employee, Jeremy Swanson, in taking the life of his wife and unborn child. Our deepest sympathies will remain with the families of both the victims and the perpetrator.

In the Daily Bee article on Sept. 10, 2013, that provided the details of Mr. Swanson’s sentencing, it was reported that Mr. Swanson “had recently been promoted to production manager at Thorne Research.” That is incorrect. Mr. Swanson’s final job title at Thorne Research was “encapsulation machine operator.” Mr. Swanson did not hold a supervisory or managerial position at Thorne Research as was erroneously implied by reporter that his title was that of “production manager.”

Editor’s note: The notation about Swanson’s job title at Thorne Research was based on remarks Bonner County Public Defender Janet Whitney made to the court regarding Swanson’s work history. Thorne Research contends Swanson never held such a job title. Swanson’s final job title was “encapsulation machine operator.”
