Eve's Leaves taking part in 'Shop Local' event

SANDPOINT — Eileen Fisher, a brand synonymous with beautifully simple clothes, is partnering with specialty stores across the United States for its third annual Shop Local event.

Taking part in the event, which runs Sept. 26-28 is Eve’s Leaves in Sandpoint. During the event, the store will be serving complimentary chardonnay, chocolates, and sparkling water

The three-day event honors and thanks the small business owners who gave the brand its start nearly 30 years ago. To aid further growth, Eileen Fisher is donating 10 percent of the event days’ sales to the Association of Women’s Business Centers, a nonprofit organization that trains and supports female entrepreneurs with more than 100 women business centers nationwide.

Designer Eileen Fisher is as invested today in the boutiques that carry her collection as she was in 1984 when the brand launched. “I’m grateful that boutique owners took a chance on my vision when I got my start,” says Fisher. “Eight boutiques bought the collection at the first trade show I participated in. They gave me great feedback and helped me deepen and grow. Personally, I love seeing the collection in a boutique setting mixed with other brands. That’s when things really get creative.”

In keeping with Fisher’s philosophy of giving back, Shop Local boutiques will also be encouraged to donate a portion of their sales proceeds over the three days to a local charity of their choice.
