LEWISTON — After shaking off lethargic legs from the bus ride down, the Sandpoint boys settled in and notched a 4-0 win over Lewiston in nonleague boys soccer on Thursday.

Jake Rookey posted his fourth consecutive shutout in goal, and Treavor Franck, Jeremiah Gagnon, Joab Logan and Matthew Burgstahler each scored to lead a diverse attack.

“It’s not easy to step on the field and be ready right away. You never know what you’re going to get in Lewiston,” said Bulldogs head coach Adam Tajan, who felt Gagnon’s sixth goal of the season early in the second half really jump started the team. “It was a nice anticipation of a pass, he intercepted it and slotted it with his left foot.”

Sandpoint (5-2-1) turns its attention to a big 4A North game against Moscow on Saturday at noon in Sandpoint.
