Bulldogs post strong showing at home meet

SANDPOINT — Nikole Alamillo won the shot and discus, Sam Levora doubled up in the 1,600 and 400 and Mikhaela Woodward won the 3,200 and 1,600 to lead the Bulldogs on Tuesday at the Sandpoint Invitational.

Levora clocked a 4:20 in the mile, despite basically running alone, to miss his personal best by less than a second. Ben Palmer was second in the discus, beating his personal best by more than 30 feet, an almost unheard of jump. Nathan Schwartz dropped three seconds off his personal best to win the 300 hurdles. Freshman Rainey Woodward had a strong showing in the 800, dropping a whopping six seconds off her personal to win handily, closing to within three seconds of the SHS record.

Sandpoint is at the Lakeland Relays on Thursday.
