Local skiers and boarders compete at Nationals

COPPER MOUNTAIN, Colo. — Several local skiers and snowboarders fared well at the recent USASA Snowboard and Ski Nationals at Copper Mountain, Colorado.

The banked slalom event was added to the competition this year and drew Olympians Lindsey Jacobellis and Ross Powers, who both took first in the open class. The weather was great with fresh powder and sunny days, and during the ski week Bobby Brown, a pro skier, came and signed autographs.
