Grateful suspect pleads not guilty

SANDPOINT — A jury trial is set for a Washington state woman who allegedly led Idaho State Police on a drunken high-speed chase earlier this year.

Cassidy Kyleen Clarkson pleaded not guilty Monday to driving under the influence and felony eluding despite allegedly admitting being intoxicated and praising the trooper for getting her off the road.

Clarkson’s plea sets the stage for a trial in 1st District Court on June 9.
