Turn the volume down and save your hearing

This morning I woke up to the sound of power tools. So, first I’ll complain that my neighbor got up especially early (must have been the sunshine) and then I’ll whine about the incessant noise the chain saw was making.

A brisk walk by the neighbor’s house revealed that he was out trimming some trees. He didn’t see me go by, but what I saw bothered me. He wasn’t wearing ear protection. And, the noise that was loud enough to annoy me was coming from a house a good 150 feet away from mine. Imagine what he was hearing! Or not hearing as the case may be.
