Youth flag football teams forming now

SANDPOINT — Football season is under way, and youth flag football registration forms are now available at Sandpoint Parks and Rec, and also online at www.teamsideline.com/sandpoint, by clicking on the “download forms” tab. 

Now expanded to include middle school age kids, this fun league is open for any and all area youth in grades three through eight. Play will be spilt into third/fourth grade, which plays with nerf footballs, and fifth/sixth grade and seventh/eighth grade, each of which will use the junior rubber balls. 

Practices will be held once a week with games played on Saturday mornings at Travers Park. Adults interested in coaching the philosophies of fun, fundamentals and sportsmanship are needed.

Games will begin Saturday, Sept. 20 and play through Oct. 25. 

Registration forms must be turned into Parks and Rec (1123 Lake St.) by Monday, Sept. 8 by 5 p.m. Fees for one player are $35 County/$30 city; two players at $60 county/$50 city; three players $80 county/$70 city. Jerseys are $14 and can be purchased at Parks and Rec. Scholarships are available on a need basis.
