SANDPOINT — When it comes to public parking, the city aims to keep residents playing by the rules with a new ordinance prohibiting the removal of tire markings.

These marks help employees determine when vehicles have passed their allotted two hours of free parking, at which point they issue tickets. Council members passed the new ordinance at their Wednesday meeting.
