I have always been a supporter of the Bonner County Human Rights Task Force and have been appreciative of the work that organization has done over the years.
I do take issue with the full page letter published by the Daily Bee on Dec. 5, 2014, regarding the unfortunate incident last July where Jeanetta Riley lost her life. I believe Ms. Riley’s human rights were violated. The letter states that the local police were “neither untrained nor uncaring.” That may be true, but having seen the video of the incident, I believe that the training needs to be rethought.
