Will Delta's courage inspire other firms?

| December 11, 2014 6:00 AM

While Tea Party Republicans in Congress were talking about shutting down the government (again), this time to retaliate against President Barack Obama’s action to reform immigration laws, a leader in the business community has defended his action.

Delta Airlines — acknowledged as the most respected U.S. air carrier — publicly endorsed Obama’ move. “We are a nation of immigrants. We are a country that was built by immigrants,” said Richard Anderson, Delta’s chief executive officer. The airline reflects the values of the people it carries around the world, and next year hopes to carry 175 million people, he said.
