MULLAN — Brandan Bowen and Eich Anderson had strong games, leading Clark Fork to a 50-42 win over Mullan in a North Star League boys basketball opener on Tuesday at the Mullan Pavilion.

Bowen tallied a game-high 19 points to go with five steals and four dimes, and Anderson had a strong game on the blocks, posting a double-double with 17 points and 13 boards for the Wampus Cats (2-3, 1-0 NSL).

“This is the best game Brandan has played. He stepped it up and took control of the game,” said Cats head coach Corey Vogel. “Eich was tough down low. He’s a big body, he gets good position and he’s deceptively quick for his size.”

Spencer Jeffres also had four assists, as the Cats held the Tigers to single digits in the first three quarters.

“We played tough defense and our offense was under control,” described Vogel. “We took some good shots, and should have won by more.”

T.J. Placencio led the Tigers with 14 points in the loss.

Clark Fork gets lengthy break in the schedule, hosting Selkirk on Jan. 3.
