Bulldogs run out of gas in loss to Tigers
SPIRIT LAKE — The road-weary Bulldogs built a six point halftime lead, but couldn’t close the deal, falling 44-32 to Timberlake in nonleague girls basketball action on Tuesday night at Timberlake High School.
Allison Kirby scored 12 of her game-high 21 points in the second half as the 3A Tigers (10-1) rallied to beat the 4A Bulldogs. Timberlake, which trailed 23-17 at halftime, held Sandpoint to nine second half points in the win.
“I was really impressed with our defensive effort,” Timberlake coach Matt Miller said. “Sandpoint is a great offensive team. (Madi) Schoening and (Grace) Kirscher are great offensive players. To hold a high powered offense to nine in the second half was impressive.”
