SANDPOINT — Two public hearings head up the last regular council meeting of 2014.

Council members will be weighing a litany of fee increases proposed for the coming year at a meeting set for 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at City Hall. Visit the city meeting agendas and minutes website — www.cityofsandpoint.com/cityagendas.asp — to see the full list of fee increases.

Required by law whenever a fee increases by more than 5 percent, the public hearing will mostly address modifications to existing fees. One exception is a new fee proposed for parade or public assembly permits. These permits scale up in cost based on how many people are expected to attend, how many street blocks will be closed or occupied, the length of street closures, and whether or not the event will include beer or wine sales.
