When I attended Sacred Heart School of nursing in Spokane (1960-1963), at times I would ride the Greyhound bus home to Sandpoint for the weekend. The bus stop was at the Panida News stand at 310 N. First and the Fountain Cafe was next door.
On Sunday, we would go to the Pastime cafe for an early dinner. Leonard and Helen Hauges owned and operated the cafe. My parents, Bert and Esther Lines, and my brother Mike would then drive me to the train depot. Such a beautiful building with lots of marble inside. Then I would ride the train back to Spokane. It’s nice to see they are remodeling the depot.
Thank you.
