Jensen, Soderberg lead Thunder boys to win

KOOTENAI — Shayne Jensen filled the stat sheet with 12 points, five steals, four assists, four rebounds and two blocks, leading the Kootenai Thunder boys basketball team to a decisive 49-8 win over Classical Christian Academy in recent Mountain Christian League action.

Mike Favor added 12 points and four steals, Jimmy Soderberg eight points and three steals, Shepley Osman four points and five boards, Peter Soderberg four points, three rebounds and two steals, Bucky Roop four points and three steals, Jason Roop three points and four steals and Alex Christensen two points to lead the Thunder.

The Thunder boys then lost a close game to North Idaho Christian School, falling 42-36. Scoring for the Thunder were Jimmy Soderberg with 13 points, 10 rebounds and three steals, Shayne Jensen with eight points and four steals, Peter Soderberg with six points, 14 rebounds and 3 steals, Jason Roop with five points and five boards and Mike Favor and Bucky Roop with two points each.

The Kootenai Thunder girls were also in action, falling to North Idaho Christian School from Hayden Lake in a recent home game. Machaela Montgomery led the Thunder with six points and two rebounds, while McKenna Beck scored four, Ayden Osman two, and Gracie Jones and Marian Soderberg with one points each.
