Double standard in place regarding Iran

The western nations are using a double standard with regard to nuclear weapons in Iran. If the United States, Russia, China, Pakistan, India, North Korea and especially Israel have nuclear weapons, why shouldn’t Iran?
If Israel should attack Iran, the United States could be drawn into a war on Israel’s side. Israel is less likely to use its nuclear weapons against Iran if it knows Iran has the nuclear capability to retaliate.
The concept of mutual assured destruction deterred the United States and the U.S.S.R. from a nuclear war.
