As I look across the street and see the American flag flying at half-mast at the home of Afton Marie Thornton Ponce’s uncle and grandmother Thornton, I am so sorry for your loss and my heart goes out to her husband and two sons. Although Afton was only 28, she was doing what she wanted; so much good in such a short time.
Thank you, Afton Marie Thornton Ponce. And thank you to the Thornton family for the others who are serving and those who have passed. I have known the family for most of my life and again I say, my condolences and my thanks and God bless.
