Priest River girls fall to Filer in 3A state semis

MIDDLETON — The Lady Spartans held a 25-24 lead early in the third quarter of Friday’s 3A girl’s state semifinals, but the top ranked Filer Wildcats caught fire and went on a 20-7 run the rest of the way to take a 44-32 win.

Senior Jill Weimer scored 15 points and pulled down eight rebounds in the loss for Priest River, which now faces the winner of Friday night’s matchup between Timberlake and Homedale in the third place game today at 10 a.m. PST.
