Chambers honored as year's top Realtor

SANDPOINT — Chris Chambers has been named the 2013 Realtor of the Year for the Selkirk Association of Realtors. He was presented the award by Raphael Barta, 2012 Realtor of the Year.
Chambers became a licensed Realtor in 2002 and has been a truly outstanding volunteer in the Selkirk Association of Realtors and the Multiple Listing Service for many years, said Stephanie Rief in announcing the award.
His list of accomplishments includes earning the GRI, CRS and SHS designations; director of sales for Seasons at Sandpoint condominiums 2003-present; MLS president for 2005 and 2012; MLS past president for 2006 and 2013; and MLS treasurer 2014. He also served on the SAR board of directors in 2005 and 2012; on the MLS/SAR budget committees in 2012 and 2013; the MLS/SAR strategic planning committee 2012; on the MLS (Paragon) and Lockbox contract renewal committees in 2012 and 2013; and worked as a SAR Giving Tree volunteer and “gift delivery driver” since 2009.
Rief said Chambers’ leadership in the community is equally as impressive. From serving as a Bonner General Hospital Foundation board member from 2009-2011 and as Bonner General Hospital Foundation president since 2014, Chambers has been involved in numerous community groups and organizations.
He has been a Sandpoint Rotary member since 2003, including on the Sandpoint Rotary Board from 2011-2013; a Rotary Charitable Trust board member since 2012, a Rotary Charitable Trust scholarship chair since 2009. In addition, he has been a Panhandle Alliance for Education board member since 2012, the Pend Oreille Arts Council since 2011, a Kinderhaven Festival of Trees volunteer from 2010-2013, and as a past Festival at Sandpoint Advisory Board member.
Chambers’ most recent achievement was to compete in the North American Sailing Championships in Los Angeles, Calif., in early September 2013. Chambers and his crew placed first in their division and placed third overall. He has been a member and volunteer for the Sandpoint Sailing Association since 2002, lending his time and expertise to those who share a passion for sailing.
“The Selkirk Association of Realtors is extremely proud to honor Chris Chambers as 2013 Realtor of the Year,” Rief said.
