Wampus Cats fall to Warriors
CLARK FORK — Tristin Bristol scored a team-high 14 points to go with eight boards, but not much else went right for Clark Fork, which fell 44-31 to Kootenai in North Star League boys basketball action Saturday night in Clark Fork.
Tristin Bristol added five points and five steals, but the Wampus Cats (2-6, 0-2 NSL) managed only four assists as a team, which proved a tough stat to overcome.
“It was ugly. Everything that could go wrong, did, and offensively we’re way out of rhythm,” said Cats head coach Dexter Vogel. “Our defense is playing well, we just didn’t execute on offense.”
If there’s a silver lining in the league loss, it’s that the Cats could play so poorly and still cut the deficit to five points in the fourth quarter. Zack Nesbitt returned to the lineup and scored four points, Geoffry Boudousquie added five and Nick Oas three, as only five Cats scored in the loss.
Clark Fork hits to road today for a rematch against Selkirk, which won by three points in the first meeting, looking to build some momentum for the final run through league play.
