SANDPOINT — Senior Jeremiah Gagnon continues to light up the scoreboard, dropping in a game-high 24 points to lead the Bulldogs to a 62-58 win over Kellogg in nonleague boys hoops on Thursday at Les Rogers Court.

Gagnon hit 7-13 from the field and a perfect 10-10 from the line for the Bulldogs (7-5), who struggled in an even first half before scoring 19 points in each of the final two quarters to put the game away.

“In the first half we had a lot more kinks than we wanted. In the second half, we attacked their zone defense,” said Bulldogs head coach Tyler Haynes, looking ahead to Saturday’s league showdown in Moscow. “We can’t play a first half like that in Moscow without being in trouble.”

Thomas Edwards scored 12 points and hit two from beyond the arc, and Collin Jurenka scored five big points in the fourth quarter to break open a close game. Gagnon added five rebounds, Nathan Schwartz three assists and Chase Rodriguez two blocks for the Bulldogs.

Jesse Lambert hit five 3-pointers and scored 17 to lead the Wildcats (4-4), who also got 15 from Tucker Gust.

Sandpoint is at Moscow in a 4A North opener on Saturday.
