Solve problem, don't just move raccoons
I guess it’s about time to voice my opinion about city raccoons. These cute little “bandits” eating all of your cat and dog food (don’t leave it out at night.) So you city people get tired of feeding them, live trap them and bring them out to Round Lake State Park to release them. Then, they play havoc with our local duck and chicken raisers, who have to use the services of the local state trapper. By this time, these “coons” are trap wise and keep eating ducks and chickens.
I am a neighbor of this person and I have lost 12 10-year old Koi fish and goldfish in two winters. Then, this year, they attacked my raspberry patch and broke down all the canes, effectively ruining the 2014 berry crop. They also started on a new planting of thornless blackberries.
In all, the trapper has dispatched four at my place and three at the neighbors.
Please, city people, take your trapped raccoons deep into the forest and release them, or better yet, dispatch the bandits and quit feeding them.
