'Fix-it' tickets needed for broken lights

| January 30, 2014 6:00 AM

It would be a good thing if local law enforcement and state police would start writing more fix-it tickets to people who drive with malfunctioning lights on their vehicles.

How many times have we all seen vehicles with only one head light or tail light or with no brake lights or turn signal lights? How about people who constantly drive with their bright lights on even when you flash your bright lights at them or their head lights are totally out of adjustment, which is a very easy fix. A lot of folks do not even know they have a problem with their vehicle lights. If a fix-it ticket was issued that did not cost the drivers any money but gave them some time, say 30 days, to repair their problem it sure would make things better and much safer driving for everyone who drives, especially at night.
