SANDPOINT — It took more than a half century of smacking golf balls around the links, but Sandpoint golfer Luke Reed finally got to experience the euphoria of making a hole-in-one.
Reed, 69, aced the No. 7 hole at the Idaho Club during men’s club play on Thursday. The hole was playing 155 yards, and Reed pulled out a six hybrid club, ripping the ball about pin high.
“It was one of those pretty, majestic golf shots that I don’t hit very often,” recalled Reed. “It ended up off the green to the left, turned and came down the hill. My partner said ‘it’s heading for the cup,’ and it disappeared.”
