A paralyzed Congress forced Obama's action

Recent letters here have urged impeachment of the president and have defended the “do-nothing” House of Representatives. (Wait, they have accomplished something — shutting down our government, which hurt us all.)

The Republicans tried before to impeach a two-term Democratic president and failed miserably. During that period, President Clinton’s approval ratings rose to the highest point of his eight years in office.
