Lions deserves kudos for thanks, fireworks

I felt really disillusioned by the letter from Dan Christians (Sunday, July 13; Daily Bee) criticizing the short fireworks display presented by the Lion’s Club on the Fourth of July. My-oh-my! Every Fourth, I watch the fireworks from the deck of Arlo’s Ristorante and enjoy the show and my dinner companions. Every year the Lion’s Club presents its show to the community as a gift. It gathers funds throughout the year to bring this benefit to this community on this momentous and traditional national event. To criticize the efforts this fine organization undertakes must come from someone who perhaps does not volunteer or donate to such worthwhile causes.
