Aerospace program helps students soar
SANDPOINT — It’s not every day you hear of high school students working over summer break to pay for classes.
Nevertheless, that’s exactly what’s happening among participants of the High School Aerospace Program. A recent effort founded by local educators and aviation enthusiasts, instructor Ken Larson said the enthusiasm shown by young students is almost unparalleled. In fact, one student told him he had planned to drop out of school until the flight program changed his mind.
“I guess you could say it’s worth it if it keeps even one student in school,” Larson said.
