Final session of youth tennis lessons fast approaching

SANDPOINT — The last chance for area youth to learn the game of tennis is fast approaching. Registration for the 2014 Youth Tennis final session (listed below) is underway, so register now to guarantee your spot.

Partial scholarships are available on a need basis. To sign up, call or stop by Sandpoint Parks and Recreation, 1123 Lake St.

• Tennis for Tiny Tots (Ages 4-5 years-old)

Special training techniques and toys will be used to keep our Tiny Tots, ages 4-5, smiling and having fun. Lessons are held at Lakeview Park, Tuesday and Thursday, July 29 and 31, from 8- 8:45 a.m. The class fee is $12 ($2 city discount).

• Tennis for Hot Hitters (Ages 6-7)

Lessons are held at Lakeview Park, Monday-Thursday, July 28-31, from 9–10 a.m. The class fee is $23 ($3 city discount).

• Tennis for Beginner Youth (Ages 8-12)

At Lakeview Park, Monday-Thursday, July 28-31, from 10 – 11 a.m. The class fee is $23 ($3 city discount).

• Tennis for Intermediate Youth (Ages 8-12)

These lessons teach fundamentals, strategy and play, and beginning lessons or play experience is required. At Lakeview Park from 11 a.m. to noon, Monday-Thursday, July 28-31. The class fee is $23 ($3 city discount).

• Tennis Teen Skill Development (Middle School and High School Players)

Players will work on stroke refinement, movement on the court, and strategy. At Lakeview Park from noon to 1 p.m., July 28-31. The class fee is $23 ($3 city discount).
