Your mother isn't to blame for male pattern baldness

Maybe you just saw a picture of yourself from the back and wondered who that bald man was. Or maybe a friend was walking downstairs behind you and made fun of your donut hole. Maybe this morning you’ll look in the mirror and wonder how your forehead got so big. Whatever your wonderment is it’s probably baldness.

Androgenetic alopecia or male pattern baldness (MPB) is the culprit for 95 percent of hair loss in men. There are other possible reasons people lose their hair including serious diseases, reaction to medications and, although rarely, stressful events, but the primary reason is heredity. And, it’s inherited from both sides of your family, not just your mother’s side as the common myth tells us.
