P.O.P., Lock & Roll Youth Bicycle Program accepting applications
SANDPOINT — P.O.P., Lock & Roll, a youth program that will provide bicycles, helmets and locks to area children in need, will be accepting applications through July 11.
Sponsored by Pend Oreille Pedalers bike club through a generous grant from the Equinox Foundation, the program will benefit local children ages 8-15 years-old with the skills and knowledge of responsible bicycle ownership. Children selected for the program will be required to participate in the Bike Build and Training Day to learn about their new bikes, responsible bicycle ownership and the rules of the road.
The first installment of the P.O.P., Lock & Roll program in April provided 18 bicycles to area children.
“The Pend Oreille Pedalers are excited to continue this program,” Pend Oreille Pedalers’ President Jim Mellen said.
And Leesa Stefano, former Pend Oreille Pedalers’ President said: “We had an extremely successful launch in April and are proud to provide bicycles to local children and expand the biking community.”
