Cutting our military doesn't make sense

| March 4, 2014 6:00 AM

I listened as the Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel gave his administration-controlled speech (Feb. 24) indicating the president’s intent to decrease active Army forces from 520,000 to 440,000, along with pay and benefit cuts, citing lack of budget dollars to continue support at current levels.

No money to waste on maintaining/building military strength? Seems we have unlimited tax dollars for congress and the president to waste on many other things. Frankly, I’d prefer “wasting” my tax dollar(s) on a strong military.
