Pause for a moment and think about God

| March 13, 2014 7:00 AM

Have you ever looked up at the stars on a clear cool night? Sure you have! I have even in the old days of fighting forest fires. Looked up into the sky, with the bright stars just twinkling. What a great short rest to the body and mind! The background of fire, smoke, and glowing embers. The smell of sweat, smoke, and dirt.

Now I want you to set back and think of the times that you have admired the stars in the heavens at night. There is the Big Dipper, North Star, etc. Beautiful!

Then, have your thoughts go to how small this earth is to the universe (a speck) and compare how small you are to this beautiful earth (insignificant speck)?

Now feel the dirt under your feet. Do you feel it! The earth is beneath your feet.

Hold on now: The reason of the stars in heaven, and the dirt (earth) beneath your feet, is because of you. You and me. You and me, our friends, neighbors, and the human family. Regardless where we are in life or place in life, this is for you and me. So do you think we should consider Him that has created this for us? We are worth far more to Him than a perfectly cut diamond, with a pot of gold setting beside it. Maybe it would be a good idea to follow Him (the Lord), and His ways, and not those who think they can destroy Him
