The country requires a contrite spirit

The country requires

a contrite spirit

The Lord tells us in Isaiah 57:15 that He dwells “in the high and holy place” and also with those who have “a contrite and humble spirit.”

His desire is “to revive the spirit of the humble and revive the heart of the contrite ones.”

Pride often hinders us from admitting even to ourselves that we have sinned. So we go on existing in spiritual darkness instead of humbly receiving the forgiveness and cleansing that God is so willing to give to those who are contrite.
