SANDPOINT — Tests have confirmed that a Sandpoint Middle School teacher contracted neisseria bacterial meningitis during a recent trip.
Further tests are ongoing at a state lab in Boise and the teacher is receiving treatment and is no longer contagious, according to a letter sent to parents Thursday. There have been no reports of any other staff members or Lake Pend Oreille School District students with any symptoms of meningitis.
