BONNERS FERRY — A proposed conservation easement at Hall Mountain in Boundary County aims to protect 2,885 acres of habitat within an internationally recognized wildlife corridor.

The conservation easement, which is being sought by eight landowners and the Nature Conservancy, is ranked second nationwide in the U.S. Forest Service’s Forest Legacy Program. A budget justification calls for $2.7 million in funding for the conservation easement, which would protect the land from development while allowing the land to be managed for timber production.
