Meyer, Temple lead Bulldogs at Inland Empire Classic
SPOKANE — Paul Meyer and Logan Temple finished fourth in the No. 3 doubles bracket, leading the Bulldogs tennis team at the Inland Empire Tournament in Spokane on Friday and Saturday.
The tournament draws teams from all over the Inland Northwest, and serves as a great tune up for the district tournament, which starts on Friday.
It will be a busy week for the Bulldogs, who host Coeur d’Alene today and Moscow on Wednesday, before traveling down to Coeur d’Alene on Friday and Satruday for the 4A Region 1 tournament, where state berths will be earned.
Khloe Kyllonene and Elizabeth Parsley won the girls doubles final at the Inland Empire League JV tournament on Friday and Saturday in Coeur d’Alene, leading a strong showing by the Bulldogs’ JV team.
Violet Plummer lost in the girls singles final, while Bradley Russell won the consolation in the boys singles division.
“Khloe and Liz both have consistent, strong serves and play very well together at the net,” said Bulldogs head coach Kent Anderson. “Bradley has the ability to really connect on his forehands and shock his opponents. The future looks bright for Sandpoint tennis.”
