SANDPOINT — Freshman Laney provided steady cross court returns, and senior Kennedy was ending volleys at the net, as the Search sisters advanced to the semis of the main draw in girls doubles, leading the Bulldogs on day one of the 4A state tennis tournament at Timberline High School in Boise.

The Searches proved worthy of the No. 2 seed, beating Twin Falls 7-5, 6-1 in the first round and Bonneville 6-1, 6-1 in the quarters. Sandpoint head coach Kent Anderson said the pair played a like a top seed, and will face some stiff competition in the semis.
