SANDPOINT — A Bonner County man convicted of lewd conduct with a minor was ordered Friday to serve up to 20 years in prison.

James LeMar Parton will have to serve 10 years before he can be considered for parole, according to the terms of the sentence imposed by 1st District Judge Barbara Buchanan.

A jury convicted Parton of the felony offense during a three-day trial in July. He was charged with molesting a preteen girl in 2012 and 2013 at his former residence in Careywood and a Sagle motel.
