Top Dog to host Panhandle Championships

SANDPOINT — More than 500 youth wrestlers from around the Inland Northwest will be in action on Saturday when Top Dog hosts the Panhandle Wrestling Championships, starting Saturday morning at Sandpoint Middle School.

Top Dog, with more than 70 wrestlers now among its ranks, continues to grow as a youth program in the past few years. Last weekend in Priest River, more than 50 Top Dogs were in action, with more than half bringing home medals. In Coueur d’Alene, 27 of the 51 wrestlers placed.

Saturday’s meet marks the season finale for the club, so come out watch the next generation of Bulldog wrestlers in action.

• Second place: Mason Bangeman; Gregory Belgarde; Shane Sherrill; Tyson Hodges; Sonny Aitken; Tyssen Case; Brant Knaggs; Jorden Tyler; Antonio Medina-Lopez.

• Third place: Dakota Rief; Cameron Barrett; Shawn Russell.

• Fourth place: Trevan Adam; Nolan Randles; Darrian Resso; Tanner Thornhill; Dallen Adam; Garrett Koehler; Matthew Clifton; Calvin Hinds; Trenton Case; Tanyon Sprinkle; Dillon Tope.
