SANDPOINT — The Salvation Army is seeking volunteers for its signature Christmas kettle campaign this year.

The Salvation Army plans to have red kettles at Safeway, Super 1, Yoke’s Fresh Market and Walmart on Fridays and Saturdays from Nov. 26 to Dec. 24.

Civic and church groups are encouraged to volunteer. Individual volunteers are also welcome, said Janice Yanes, a regional Salvation Army field representative.

“The more the merrier,” Yanes said.

Yanes said the kettles will be at the stores’ entrances from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

“All of the money stays in the community,” Yanes said of the donations that are collected here.
