Beware of Walmart scam

SANDPOINT — You will save money and live better if you pitch an offer to work as a secret shopper at Walmart into the nearest trash can.

Bonner County residents are receiving in the mail authentic-looking offers to serve as a consumer service evaluator at Walmart. The mailing also includes a check for nearly $2,000 to fund your shopping trip.

Trouble is, the whole thing is a scam.

Walmart does not utilize secret shopper services, according to the company’s corporate website. Moreover, Walmart never issues checks so you can purchase something and keep the remainder.
