Community flocks together on turkey drive
SANDPOINT — Thanksgiving may be their busiest time of the year, but for Bonner Community Food Center director Alice Wallace it’s the small moments stand out.
In the midst of the chaos dishing out turkeys, cranberries, stuffing and other Thanksgiving essentials, she still finds time for one-on-on interactions with food bank clients. It’s how this year, she met a 72-year-old grandmother struggling to provide a traditional Thanksgiving meal after receiving custody of her five grandchildren.
